2.jpgWith Roger’s victory over Mikhail Youzhny (7-6, 6-4, 6-4), yet another record may be been broken – Jonh McEnroe’s 11 straight set victories. However, Roger has a tall task in the quarters where he will face Spain’s Tommy Robredo.

Youzhny provided Roger with a challenging match, and it was great to watch. I noticed that this year, Roger is trying to keep points shorter with his aggressive play. This is something that Roger hasn’t done in years past. So far it is looking very promising.

After the match, Roger said, “I don’t know why, but the fans here are supporting me in a great way”. Hmmm…maybe it’s because Roger is such a likable, classy guy who plays amazing tennis.

thumb_72093_france_french_open_tennissff.jpgThis doesn’t have anything to do with Roger at all, but it is something worth writing/talking about. I caught a replay of Maria Sarapova’s match against Patty Snchyder, and Maria’s shrieks are ridiculous. I don’t know whether she does that to unnerve her opponents or she’s putting that much effort into her shots. It’s understandable with Nadal because he puts everything he has into every shot. I think it’s something that should be looked into because honestly, it gets annoying to listen to.

I hate watching women’s tennis for the exact reason you said.

I’m not an active tennis fan, but I don’t mind watching it when others are… but I’ll certainly freakout when I hear those ridiculous “ahhhhh!!!”s. Good point.
