The French Open will soon be upon us, and people are anticipating one of two things: Nadal winning a third straight title, or (the one I like) Roger completing the Roger Slam. With that win in Hamburg over Nadal, Roger has renewed confidence, and he knows that he can win against Nadal on clay. In the second and third sets of Hamburg, Roger made Nadal look very, very human, something that no one has been able to do since 2005. I don’t think Roger could have been happier with that performance.
The result of this year’s French Open has been on people’s minds since the end of the Australian Open. It’s the only slam Roger hasn’t dominated, but I think this is his year to make history. Roger has put himself way above the competition and is competing against the history books.
